The Apothecary

This project focused on the creation of a moodboard for a cookies and coffee shop with a seated-in experience, where food, craftand atmosphere were treated as part of a single narrative. The brief was to define a clear interior direction that could support both product display and customer dwell time, elevating a simple concept into a refined spatial experience.

The design concept was built around the idea of balance, exactness and ritual in the preparation of food. Ingredients were interpreted almost scientifically, suggesting exact measurements, care and intention, while also introducing a subtle sense of mystery and the perceived “curative” quality of high-quality ingredients. The space was imagined as a modern apothecary, where cookies and coffee are crafted with the same attention traditionally associated with remedies and formulations.

Materiality reinforced this narrative through the use of vintage, sturdy furniture pieces, premium natural materials and clear glass elements to introduce lightness and transparency. The contrast between weighty, grounded forms and delicate crystal pipettes and accessories created a layered environment that felt robust and refined. The final moodboard established a distinctive direction that elevated the customer experience into something tactile, considered and theatrical.
